The pattern based training method introduced in Ocuchess is an invention of GM Steingrimsson about which he wrote both in his FIDE Trainer Thesis and German A-Trainer Thesis. The goal of the method is to teach chess in an efficient manner which is much easier to remember than traditional methods.
